About the Event

BCG is offering a one hour connection event hosted by Erik Heimark, with Farm Business Management, to provide a variety of information around specialty crop farming. As a farmer himself, who also is an educational instructor for farmers, Erik will share his expertise, stories, and some valuable resources on how they are helping farm businesses enhance, improve and grow stronger.

Erik Heimark is the new Specialty Crops Farm Business Management (FBM) Instructor at Central Lakes College. He came from teaching High School Agriculture and has owned and operated Maple Ridge Produce, a 5 acre produce farm, for the last 8 years with his husband Jay Rigdon.  Before teaching he managed Gilby's Orchard and worked as a naturalist for a local nature center.  He loves food, cooking, entertaining guests, baking, hunting and preserving the harvest.

Erik will offer you what type of resources are out there for local farm businesses, what type of events conferences webinars are available for networking and connecting within our communities, basics of taking your "financial temperature" of your business, education on financial analysis and recordkeeping, mapping out the progress of your business, and more.

This will be an interactive discussion type of forum so please come ready to connect, listen, learn, ask questions, and enjoy each other. This is all about connecting and sharing valuable information to help our businesses and our farming communities thrive and grow together.
